Both of them disclosed that they raked in N5 million within one week they held Fr. Ekemgba hostage.
According to the suspects they regret their actions.
“My name is Kingsley Obimunonye. I am from Umudagu Mbieri, Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State. I am 35 years old. I am a kidnapper and I am not proud of it because there is a word they normally say that every day is for the thief and one day is for the owner. I regret all the crimes I have been committing, I am doing it out of the condition I have found myself into and I’m not proud. I have been a disgrace to my family, my friends, my well wishes and myself.”
He said that he drove the vehicle the day the Rev. Father was kidnapped.
“On that day, we were on a kidnapping patrol team; we did not have any specific person at hand. So while we were driving, we saw a vehicle coming behind us. So, they asked me to block the vehicle. We didn’t know that it was a Rev father because he was not putting on his priesthood garment. Others came down and took him and pushed him to the back seat of his vehicle and then we drove away.
